In 1877 a Christian church was started in the Oneida school house about three miles north of Hudson. For the next 33 years the Onieda Christian Church worshipped and grew and in 1908 a lot was purchased in the village of Hudson and in February of 1910 the first service was held in what is now known as the Hudson Christian Church.
In the early 1920's HCC saw rough years and services were abandoned. Thankfully the Ladies' Aide continued and the church was kept in great condition and all bills were paid. In 1925 services began again under a Eureka College student by the name of Bill Simer. For some years HCC still saw tough times, but with the strenght of the Ladies' Aide and faithful members, the church doors remained open.
From the time the doors were opened in 1910 until 1957 the church had a number of great preachers who blessed the congregation week after week, but in September of 1957 Rev. Merlin Stratton came to Hudson. For the next 26 years Rev. Stratton worked hard and the church saw prosperous times and wonderful needed growth. A new Sunday school wing was added in June of 1963.
Throughout the 1960's many changes were to take place at the church. Remodeling was done, a baptistry was added and new furnishings including a new piano and organ were added.
Rev. Stratton retired in 1983 after many years of dedicated service. During the next 12 years several ministers came and ministered to our congregation. There were more tough times, but in November of 1995, Pastor Bill Vandervoort and his wife Kathy came to our church and for 13 wonderful years, they have blessed our congregation and we have yet again seen great growth. We have truly been blessed.

Thank you Lord for indoor plumbing!

Throughout the years the Ladies' Aide Society kept the church running and in good repairs when there at times were no men in the congregation.
