Passage Summary: When Christ walked upon the earth he did not just labor to care for people’s souls, but cared for their physical needs as well. To ensure that the physical needs of his church are met, and that his shepherds are not distracted from soul-care, the Lord has arranged for deacons to be established as faithful stewards of his resources and ministers of his compassion.
