Matthew 7:1-5

So far in the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus has been calling the citizens of his Kingdom to a higher standard of righteousness. A standard that extends to every motive of the heart. Yet, we are to apply that rigorous standard as graciously as we trust God will deal with us in Christ. We should not have a critical attitude towards others that condemns them for failing to live up to a standard that we fall short of ourselves.
