Matthew 26:57-68

As Jesus was silent before his accusers, so we also should not retaliate when mistreated. Rather, we should turn the other cheek as Christ instructed and exampled. Christ was the only reputation worthy of defense in history, yet he deferred that to the Father’s future exaltation of his Name. When we reject meekness and in pride come to the defense of our own honor, we steal from Christ’s future glory to promote our own.
